Alex Trick, PhD is the Co-Founder and CEO of Prompt Diagnostics, an early stage biotech company based in Baltimore, MD developing a rapid test platform for point-of-care detection of infectious diseases. The technology at Prompt is the culmination of his prior research in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Johns Hopkins where he focused on development of fast, automated, and affordable molecular diagnostics devices. With support from CARB-X and the NIH, Dr. Trick is leading the development of Prompt’s multiplexed STI panel test with simultaneous genotyping of Neisseria gonorrhoeae antimicrobial resistance to guide treatment.
